Danny Ashby is a Sculptor, Actor, Special Effects Artist, Performance Artist, Visual Artist, and Set Builder living in Atlanta, GA. He is the CEO and Co-Founder of Outland Armour, a small but world famous fabrication, props, and special effects company operating since 2004. Danny's creations have won awards at conventions across the country and with Outland Armour, he travels the country making appearances at media conventions, hosting panels, and judging costume contests.
Having been involved in the theatre and creating art since he was a small child, his propensity for dressing and behaving strangely for the amusment of anyone around him has evolved into a career in the entertainment industry, as he currently works at Netherworld Haunted House, the number one rated haunted attraction in America. He aims to continue on to work in the film industry.
After having been a drawing and painting major for three years at the University of Georgia, Danny developed Crohn’s disease and was forced to take a break from schooling for two years to recover. Once regaining his strength, he changed his major to sculpture and transferred to the Atlanta campus of the Savannah College of Art and Design. Where he continues to pursue his degree while managing his company, despite his illness. He will finish his BFA in 2012.
In the last several years, Daniel has gotten involved in the steampunk community and is now one of the most recognizable steampunk figures in the world. His work can currently be seen in the Steampunk Bizzarre Exhibit at the Mark Twain House and Museum in Hartford, CT until January 2012.
